    2022 Smoke Alarm Battery Request

    The Shenango Area Fire District recognizes the disturbing nationwide trend that shows most home fire fatalities are caused by smoke alarms that are not functioning or have dead batteries. Therefore, the Shenango Area Fire District, in conjunction with Energizer Battery, is proud to provide replacement smoke alarm batteries at no cost to residents of Shenango Township and South New Castle Borough while supplies last. Residents that complete the request form, will be contacted with a time and location that they can pick up the batteries to be used for smoke and/or carbon monoxide alarms. A valid ID showing proof of residency will be required at time of pick up.

    Energizer's long standing "Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery" campaign has helped to reduce the number of home fire fatalities nationwide by reminding residents to change their smoke alarm and carbon monoxide batteries when changing their clock for daylight savings time.
