"It is the mission of this department to provide the highest level of fire prevention, fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical care, and other related services to the citizens, businesses, and visitors of the township and its mutual aid response through continuous improvement, professional development, and dedication to the community."
SHENANGO TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPARTMENT 2011 Welcome to the official homepage of the Shenango Township Fire Department in Lawrence County, PA. We would like to thank you for visiting our page today and also your continued support each day of the year. In 2011, our department continued to improve and build upon our mission which includes providing the highest level of fire protection, fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical care, and other related services to our citizens, businesses, visitors and mutual aid response. We handled 518 emergency calls in 2011 when summoned to fulfill our obligation to the community. Our firefighters participated in hundreds of hours of training both in-house and through various agencies including the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy and Pennsylvania Department of Health. We as a department also worked to educate the public about fire safety and other serious threats they may be faced with through school presentations to fire prevention at local businesses. Our department takes each opportunity to inform our residents about the dangers of fire and other emergencies very seriously. The department would like to thank the countless supporters we have gained over the past year. Without the generosity of our outstanding residents we would not be as successful as we were in the past year. Our department has continued to work closely with surrounding fire, police and EMS agencies in Lawrence County and will continue to do so in the future. With the cooperation of these fine agencies our county has become a safer and more enjoyable place to reside and visit.
We as a department look forward to the upcoming year and hope to continue fulfilling our obligation to the community. Please continue to keep safety in your life. Sincerely, Shenango Township Firefighters **ATTENTION**

The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) launched the Install. Inspect. Protect. Campaign, encouraging people to install and maintain smoke alarms and sprinklers, practice fire escape plans, and perform a home safety walk-through.
The USFA recommends installing smoke alarms both inside and outside of sleeping areas and on every level of your home; testing them monthly; changing alkaline batteries at least once a year; and installing ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms or dual sensor smoke alarms.
